Program Description
The Child Development/Early Childhood Program is committed to improve the quality of childcare and to prepare individuals for a career educating young children. The course materials are receptive to contemporary concerns and are designed to focus on the philosophy of developmentally appropriate practices and ethical application in childcare.
The
Associate of Arts Degree in Child Development is intended to provide you with the first two years of general requirements and a foundation in Child Development that will prepare you to transfer to a 4-year university.
The
Child Development/Early Childhood Certificate is designed to provide the basic knowledge and skills necessary for entry into the field of early education and care.
The
Child Development/Early Childhood Administration Certificate is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and credentials required to become a director of a child care facility.
Career Opportunities
Child Development graduates have the opportunity to work as child care providers, registered childcare providers, child care directors, public school paraprofessionals, and other related child/youth careers.
